All trademarks are designed to perform the same functions and have a number of common characteristics, but at the same time they are all quite diverse. There are different approaches to the classification of trademarks, but all of them are repelled by current legislation. Article 5 of the Law of Ukraine on Copyright and Related Rights provides an unlimited list of types of trademarks: verbal, three-dimensional, visual trademarks, and combinations of all of the above. Verbal (or verbal) trademarks are most widely used, due to the fact that their distinctiveness is higher compared to other types of signs. The fact that verbal trademarks are perceived both by ear and visually, opens up access to the consumer through, for example, audio advertising. Verbal trademark can be one word or several (phrase or sentence). It is relevant at the moment to use as a trademark meaningful phrase – slogan. Every day the task of finding a successful and unoccupied textual notation for use as a verbal trademark is becoming increasingly difficult. Therefore, many use a different approach – they just come up with a new word. Especially popular in the environment of pharmacology, and often the name of the product refers to the chemical elements that are included in its composition.
